Article Summary

Depending on how your phone was provided and which agency you are in you may have to follow different guides to complete your phone setup.

iPhones/iPads:

Apple BYOD Device Enrollment:

If you are enrolling your personal iPhone or an iPhone provided by any agency aside from DOT, OIT, MRS, DACF, MRS or DMR you should follow the Apple BYOD enrollment instructions, even if your phone was provided by the State.

Apple Business Manager Enrollment:

If your phone is provided by DOT, OIT, MRS, DACF, MRS or DMR when starting up for the first time or after being reset it will prompt you to login to your @maine.gov account before you ever get to the home screen. Follow these instructions if your agency is in this program.

Android:

Most Android phones that are currently setup will not be able to use AnyConnect or connect to WIFI without being reenrolled in a new setup method. Depending on the situation there are options.

Android Work Profile Migration Instructions:

If your Android phone was originally registered before May of 2023 you will have to follow these instructions to remove your current registration and reregister your device.

Android Work Profile Enrollment:

Follow these instructions to register an Android phone. This will create a separate "Work" and "Personal" profile on your phone. This is the default sign up method for Android.

Android Enterprise Enrollment:

This setup method is meant for phones owned by the State of Maine. This method requires a new phone out of the box or doing a factory reset on your current device. This method will lock the phone to our management system and give the State full control over the device. This should only be used for phones owned by your department.
